1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Meaningful is a personal growth and happiness application developed and operated by Taigoa Oy, a limited liability company registered in Finland (Business ID: 3393494-2).

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Meaningful mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Taigoa Oy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you agree to these Terms on that organisation's behalf.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Meaningful. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm that you have reviewed these Terms and that your parent or guardian has agreed to them on your behalf where required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to refuse access to the Service to anyone at any time.

3. Your account

3.1 Creating an account

To access the full Service, you need to create an account using your email address and a password, or by signing in with Apple or Google. You agree to provide accurate, current information when registering and to keep it up to date.

3.2 Keeping your account secure

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at meaningful@taigoa.fi immediately.

3.3 One account per person

Accounts are personal and may not be shared with or transferred to another person.

4. Free trial and paid subscription

Meaningful is free to download. Access to the full Service requires a paid subscription, which begins with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription and your chosen payment method is charged.

Subscriptions are offered on a monthly or an annual basis.

The price, currency, billing period, trial length, renewal date and any applicable taxes are shown on the Apple App Store or Google Play purchase screen before you confirm, and those are the terms that apply to your purchase. Prices vary by country, currency and tax treatment.

Subscriptions are purchased and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The relevant store charges your payment method and provides the cancellation and refund process. You can cancel at any time in your Apple or Google account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund a period that has already started, except where the store's rules or your mandatory consumer rights provide otherwise.

Whether or not you hold a subscription, the content you have entered remains yours, and you can export it at any time from Settings → Export my data.

To keep the Service available for everyone, the AI features carry a limit on how many requests one account can make in a day. That limit sits well above ordinary use and exists to stop a single account consuming a disproportionate share of the service; it is not a separate paid tier.

We will not charge you for a subscription unless the store purchase screen has shown you the price and you have confirmed the purchase or trial. If we materially change a price or subscription structure, we will give notice before the change applies to a future renewal, as required by applicable law and store rules.

5. Acceptable use

5.1 What you may do

You may use Meaningful for your own personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

5.2 What you may not do

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Access or attempt to access any part of the Service by means other than the interfaces we provide.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive the source code of the app.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
• Upload, transmit, or share any content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Use the Service to develop a competing product or service.
• Attempt to scrape, extract, or harvest data from the Service by automated means.

5.3 Content you enter

Meaningful is a private tool. The content you enter — reflections, journal entries, goals, and moments — is personal, is visible only to you, and is never shared with other users of the Service. Meaningful has no social features and no way to publish your content to another person.

Where the app offers a share action — telling someone you finished a happiness exercise, or exporting your own data — it hands that content to your device's own share sheet, and what happens to it afterwards is between you and the app you send it to. You are solely responsible for the content you enter and warrant that it does not violate any third-party rights.

6. Important health and wellbeing disclaimer

Meaningful is a personal growth and wellbeing application. It is not a medical device, a therapeutic service, or a substitute for professional mental health care, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The happiness exercises, life aspect reflections, and Sol’s suggestions within the Service are based on positive psychology research and are intended for general wellbeing purposes only. They are not tailored to your individual medical or psychological circumstances.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, emotional distress, or any medical condition, please seek help from a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

The Service applies an automated keyword safeguard to text you send to the AI features, and will answer with a supportive message rather than an AI-generated one when it matches. This is an automated filter, not supervision: nobody is monitoring what you write, no one is alerted, and the safeguard cannot be relied on to notice that you need help. Do not use Meaningful as a way of reaching anyone in an emergency.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that Taigoa Oy is not liable for any outcome resulting from your use of the wellbeing content or Sol’s suggestions in the app.

7. AI features

The Sol feature uses AI and your in-app data — including life aspect ratings, mood patterns, and goal progress — to generate personalised suggestions. These suggestions are automatically generated and are not reviewed by a human before being shown to you.

AI-generated suggestions may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not suitable for your individual situation. You should use your own judgement when acting on them. Taigoa Oy is not responsible for any decisions you make based on Sol’s suggestions.

8. Intellectual property

8.1 Our content

All content, features, design, trademarks, and technology within the Service — including but not limited to the happiness exercise descriptions, science explanations, and app interface — are owned by or licensed to Taigoa Oy and are protected by Finnish and international intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

8.2 Your content

You retain ownership of all content you create and enter in the app — your journal entries, reflections, goals, and moments are yours. By entering content into the Service, you grant Taigoa Oy a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your personal content for advertising or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep Meaningful available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we make material changes that significantly affect your use of the Service, we will notify you in advance where reasonably practicable. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 30 days' notice, so that you have time to export your data before access ends.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• Taigoa Oy provides the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
• Taigoa Oy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €50, whichever is greater. While the Service is provided free of charge, that cap is €50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Finnish law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Taigoa Oy and its officers, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

12. Third-party services and links

The Service may integrate with or link to third-party services such as Apple or Google — for example when you sign in with an Apple or Google account, or use your device's share sheet. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review, and Taigoa Oy is not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party service.

The AI features are different, and are not a third-party service you deal with. They run on infrastructure we contract for as our own processor, within the EU. You have no separate relationship with the AI provider and nothing you write is sent to one on your own account — see our Privacy Policy for how that works.

13. Termination

13.1 By you

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app settings. Deleting your account erases your entries, photos, goals and account record from our live systems straight away; the last copies age out of our encrypted backups within 35 days, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you want to keep any of it, export your data first — Settings → Export my data.

13.2 By us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Except where we terminate your access for a breach of these Terms, we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data first.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Finnish courts, specifically the District Court of Helsinki (Helsingin käräjäoikeus) as the court of first instance.

If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence under applicable EU consumer protection law.

If you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to refer a dispute to an out-of-court consumer dispute resolution body in your country of residence. Consumers in Finland may contact the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta, kuluttajariita.fi). Whichever route you choose, please contact us first at meaningful@taigoa.fi so that we can try to resolve the matter directly.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.

The current version of these Terms is always available at https://meaningful.mobi.

16. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Taigoa Oy regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
